Random Tidbits

Last week we enjoyed some special "dates" with the girls. Geoff had no classes due to Biola's Easter break so we took Friday and Saturday and each took a girl for the day on a date. Lots of fun and some great memories. Abbie and mommy went to see the movie "Enchanted" on Friday and then to dinner at Cafe El Cholo....this great Mexican restaurant in Whittier. Abbie loves to go there because they have a treasure chest filled with toys for kids. At the end of our meal she got to pick one to take home. She chose a spiffy plastic tiger cup/mug. Very exciting! She liked the movie a lot too and has been humming and singing the first line of one of the songs all week. Quite the girl, she cried at the end of the movie because she was so happy...sigh....I have my own opinions about Disney's version of love and we won't be buying the DVD anytime soon, but it was a great mom and daughter memory. Geoff and Keely on the other hand, spent the day at the Santa Ana Zoo and then had dinner at Ruby's on the pier in Huntington Beach. Highlights from their date included riding the train at the zoo, sitting in a real jeep and pretending to drive and sharing a milkshake at Ruby's.
On Saturday we switched girls and Geoff took Abbie to the J. Paul Getty Museum where she was given free use of the digital camera and took about 200 photographs (mostly) of the gardens. She wanted to make sure that Keely and Mommy got to experience the Getty as well even though we weren't there. There were also a bunch of different free craft activities that she was able to participate in and brought home some of her own artwork. Mommy and Keely spent the day at the La Habra Childrens Museum where Keely loved riding the carousel and being able to touch anything and everything and climb and push and move most anything she wanted to.

In other news Dykstra Baby #3 has been making it's presence known more and more. Leahs had a couple different occasions where she's had contractions but nothing strong enough to be able to finally meet our new little person. We are all eager to welcome our newest family member and introduce him or her to you.

Geoff is in the process of trying to complete the first part of his NPA (Nursing Process Analysis) project for the Nursing program....81 pages and counting! He's as ready to give birth to the project as Leah is to give birth to this baby! Thanks for your prayers as we are in the midst of this busy time of life. Thanks for all the encouraging words many of you have passed on to us the past few weeks. We are so grateful to have such great support and know that God is giving us strength daily to do what needs to be done.

What a fun idea to take each girl on a "date". What are you going to do when #3 comes along?

Love the pics.
